Damn, now why didn’t I think to bring my TENT with me like these people did?! All night long I paced up and down the B concourse, and this was going on over here in A!!! Obviously I’m rethinking my belief that B was the place to be! Also, it’s warmer in A. Next time I’ll know better. Except there better not BE a next time!!!

  1. What an idea. I would have never thought I needed to take a tent in my carry on before this.

  2. Maybe it’s just me, but if air travelers need to start packing camping tents in their carry-ons…well, there’s just something very wrong going on.

And the airlines wonder why business is down.

Hang in there, Robyn. Hopefully, the trip home will be much better.

  3. Yikes. I think you could walk the rest of the way to Rhode Island faster. Hope you get to your Spud soon.

  4. Aww, Robyn, my heart goes out to ya. I’ve spent a night in an airport and it was major suck. I totally agree about them making the seats uncomfortable on purpose, the bastage! I remember wanting to stretch out on the luggage carousel cuz that was the only place I could get horizontal except for the floor. My night-from-hell was the tiny Dane County Regional Airport in Madison, WI. The friggin airport employees all LEFT at 3:00 am, leaving a few of us unlucky passengers to fend for ourselves and it was titty cold. Major suck.

Here’s hoping today is ever so much better. Just think how awesome that hot shower is gonna feel when you finally get there.

  5. Ugh, so sorry to hear you are still trapped in HELL Robyn. Hopefully by now you are in the air!!

  6. This is sounding more and more like the trip to hell! Here’s hoping you get there soon!

  7. I’m surprised that some “airport authority” person didn’t convince the tent dwellers/squatters to tear it down. Especially at LaGuardia.

Back in the mid 90s, my husband and I were enroute from Phoenix back home to Huntsville, and were stuck overnight in Hartsfield International/Atlanta airport. Yes, uncomfortable chairs, very cold, CNN blaring, and couldn’t get any shut-eye. Major suck!!!

Hope your return flight(s) are better. Enjoy visiting with the Spud, family, and Maine.
