What is sad is that the resolve we seemed to have is now dividing this country. The sense of being an AMERICAN and community that occured after that awful day has faded and now we are again a country divided by ethinic and religous beliefs.
Never forget, but it seems sometimes we have
It still feels like it happened last year O_O
Some of us have not forgotten and I for one never will. The cowards who did this will never give up, and we should be vigilant about bringing them to justice. My prayers to all the suffering families, not just today but every day. I hope we will not pull our troops out of Iraq until we “win” this war. To do otherwise would be admiting defeat, and Americans are winners, not losers. Three Cheers for America! That’s all !
Thanks for remembering; so many seem to have forgotten.
It’s been six years, yet to me it still seems so raw.

Thank you for posting about it. No one seemed to talk about it on the radio this morning, except for one station that had a moment of silence. Someone else was talking to Judge Judy and she mentioned it, but that was about it.
CNN was covering the memorial service in New York this morning, but I was disturbed to hear some people say they thought it’s time to stop the memorial services because we need to “move on.” There’s a difference between refusing to move on and remembering what should never be forgotten, in my opinion.
MSNBC was showing the entire original broadcast this morning. It was really a bit much for me to digest. The same sick feelings came back up. I want to memorialize all those lost but don’t really want to relive it. There is a huge difference.
For those who lost loved ones, my prayers continue. For those who carried out the acts, may God’s justice find you.
9/11 was a life-altering tragedy but please keep in mind our government was not vigilant about bringing the attackers to justice. They could not find Bin Laden in the last 6 years? Al Quaida has a presence in Iraq now but the attackers were not associated with that country, our president told us they were but they were not. I do not understand why we are in this war and I don’t know what it means to win it. I love my country but I don’t feel protected by my government. I believe they are acting in ways that are making us more vulnerable to attack. American’s are not quitters and I am so proud to live in a country that was founded on the belief that people should keep an eye on politicians and not follow them like lambs. I hope this great country can survive this scary administration.
Our government was not vigilant about bringing the attackers to justice? I could not agree less. The 19 hijackers are dead, of course. Of the five Al Qaeda members who were the masterminds of 9/11: Khalid Sheik Mohammed is in Guantanamo Bay, Abu Turab Al-Urduni was killed by U.S. forces in Afghanistan, Ramzi Binalshibh was captured in Pakistan and is in Guantanamo Bay, and Mohammed Atef was killed in a U.S. airstrike at his home in Kabul. Only Bin Laden is still at large.
As for some of the lesser Al Qaeda members involved in 9/11, Zacarias Moussaoui was arrested and given 6 life terms without possibility of parole. Abu Dahdah was prosecuted and jailed by Spain along with 17 other Al Qaeda members.
I think the United States military and this administration are working their butts off to bring these people to justice.
Such a politically loaded day. As a Canadian I remember that day with much shock and anger. So sorry so many had to die. As a fire fighter’s wife, so sickened to think of all the women and mothers who had to endure the horrible loss of their husbands and father to their children.
As for the resulting war? The exact same sentiments.
I wish it were all over already.
You know what Lisa? The US may have killed off a few nasty people but have slaughtered, raped, tortured and killed so many thousands of others that the sum total is completely and utterly sickening. How many innocent children, women and men have died as a result of this attack?
In my eyes? FAR TOO MANY.
Not to mention all the money that has been spent bankrupting your country while education and health care go by the way.
Sad when a President thinks his mores and ideals are greater than the health and education of his supposed country. That his citizens deserve less than he spends trying to devour another country, killing thousands along the way. As Americans you deserve so much more. Now ask for it!
Word, Jane. Not to mention the wee little detail that Iraq had nothing to do with the attacks on 9/11, did not have weapons of mass destruction, and was very much opposed to Al Qaida — or at least they were until we started this pointless mess of a war. This isn’t a war that can be won.
Jane, I agree that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. I am simply disputing your statement that our government has done nothing to bring the 9/11 attackers to justice. That is just factually untrue. Of the five Al Queda members who masterminded the 9/11 attacks, four are dead or in jail.
That’s all I’m sayin’. This is Robyn’s board and I’m not going to hijack it for debate purposes. So I’ll leave it at that.
