Poor Maggie was just walking across the kitchen, minding her own business. Suddenly and shockingly, she was attacked by a roving band of degenerate hooligans who neatly took her down like a gazelle being taken down by a pride of lions.
These kittens are far too old for this – you know, I know, they know it. But Maggie is an indulgent mama. I try to rescue her from this by carrying her into another room, away from the little brats, and she responds by running back to find them. She sure is a good mama. (Please note the look from Finnegan at around 20 seconds. He’s ready to mess me UP if I get in the way.)

Are you sure it makes Maggie a good momma that she lets her way-too-old kittens still nurse, or does it just put her in the same category as the weird human moms who continue to breastfeed their child up to age 5?????

I had a crooked acres dream the other night – and I think it ranks up there as one of the weirdest! I dreamt that you died (sorry – I’m not usually morbid!) and Fred decided to keep running your blog. No one knew you were dead until a bunch of your readers decided to come down for an impromptu visit. We were all duly impressed with how well Fred was able to imitate your writing style.
I bet Maggie would be one of those true “Earth Mothers” who would let any species nurse her. Lions and tigers and bears? Or maybe just some cute puppies or piglets.
you need to change her name to SAINT Maggie! Poor mama.
