This weekend, in between all of this:

(Dehydrating cherry tomatoes)

(Yellow squash pickles; never had ’em before, hope they’re good!)

(ALL of the corn came in this weekend. I spent a lot of time blanching, bagging, and freezing)

(The peaches from our harvest, when sliced and bagged, filled up a one-gallon bag. Pretty good for a tree Fred just planted last year!)

Mayfly.

Spotted Cucumber Beetle.

There was plenty of this:

(Heart-shaped tomato)

(The Deadliest Catch. Edgar is my secret boyfriend.)

(Zoe makes herself at home in the front room.)

All in all, a very good weekend.

  1. I never realized what chubby cheeks Miz Poo has! That picture is just too cute!

  2. Hey Robyn,

How do you prepare your sweet corn for freezing? The last recipe I tried was a disaster; the directions were a real pain and the end result was hard and unappetizing.

  3. Those pictures of the cats are hysterical, all of them.

I LOVE Deadliest Catch, and adore Edgar, too!

  4. Edgar may be your secret boyfriend by Phil of Cornelia Marie, Rick of Maverick and Sig of Northwestern are mine. >D I got a little captain in me.

  5. I always knew that Miz Poo was a ham when it came to pictures. She’s actually looks like she likes the goofy hat on her head. Poor boyz – they do not look like they are enjoying their hats.

I’m once again jealous – the harvest has begun. I only managed one little sick flower plant this year. It was free – I got it for May Day.

  6. The picture with Miz Poo is worth a caption contest. PRICELESS.

Well, almost. I am still hotly in love with Zoe. If I lived any closer than I do now, I’d take you to Applebee’s and persuade you to let me have her.

  7. Are those hats or just stuffed animals on the cats’ heads? I can’t believe you got one on the Boogs. Is he heting much?

I love Andy Hillstrand on the Time Bandit. I think they have the most fun boat. Plus who can resist Mike Rowe narrating?

  8. Omigosh, I am hungry from all the gorgeous looking produce and laughing my ass off at the indignities suffered by those kitties 🙂 Of course, it also gives me a most excellent idea of a picture to take of my kitties!!
Pass me some of those peaches please…

  9. cats always look so pissed with those hats on their heads. awesome!

i have a picture of a horned tomato that grew in my gpa’s garden once. it’s on flickr somewhere. it was all the more amusing because he’s a preacher.

  10. Robyn,

I periodically go back and re-read your 7/17 entry from last year when I am in need of a good laugh. Can I nominate it to be on your “best of” page? Because I always forget what date it is…….

Who currently has the “Round Robyn” pink quilt (that I requested pictures of) in progress. Pictures soon!

  11. 1.) Miz Poo’s picture is PERFECT. I love it.
2.) My goodness, you’re a domestic queen, I love it. Love, love love all the fresh fruits and veggies. So envious, woman.
