Someone suggested in my comments yesterday that perhaps I accidentally tossed the bottle of Feliway in the trash. I’m starting to think that that must be what happened, and I shall just sit patiently and wait for my new bottle, ordered off eBay, to get here.

And then I will duct-tape the stupid thing to me so that I don’t lose it!

Also, I should point out that the fruit trees we covered Monday night so they wouldn’t freeze are still fairly small. They’re not fully grown by any means – the tallest are about eight feet tall, I’d guess – and I’m thinking that when they do get to the point where they’re big, tall trees they’re going to be on their own when the threat of a frost comes around.

After a very fucking cold Monday, yesterday turned out to be GORGEOUS. It was so bright and sunny out with just a teeny breeze that I decided to do some laundry and hang it out to dry.

PERFECT clothes-drying weather.

I would absolutely take a bright and sunny cold day over a gray and overcast warm day ANY day of the week.

Hmm. I have NOTHING for you today. And I’m about to leave and have my hair done and then I’m going to run over to the fabric store where I shall take my time looking around, and buy everything on my list, and then I shall come back home, eat lunch, and lay like a slug on the couch while watching last night’s episodes of Real Housewives of NYC and Workout.

BECAUSE I CAN.

What are YOU doing today? Other than working, that is, you industrious types.

  1. I can do whatever I want to do too!! My kids are teens and I’m fortunate enough to be able to stay home since they were born. Today I’m actually going for lunch with some girlfriends to celebrate a birthday.

  2. Working until 4ish, then it’s time to go home cook dinner and take Katie to soccer practice where I will sit in my chair and either read a book or yap it up with the other soccer moms.

  3. I have already been to the gym to run. I’ll leave for work in about 20, after work I’ll nap, eat dinner (made by hubby, thanks for askin’), direct church choir, & then go to border’s to hang out for a bit.

  4. I just finished transfering my kids to different schools since the move. Now, I get to unpack. I will be doing that for a few days to a few weeks, lol. I should go fill out a few applications. We are short on funds, and I need to go back to work.

  5. Working. Then being a sloth when I get home. The ten-toed variety.

I watched RH:NYC last night and while Simon bugs my shit, Ramona totally needs a pie in the face.

  6. I’m still trying to make myself put the paint up in that room downstairs. I’m having a hell of a time picking up the roller.

  7. Well I started the day with a 6:00 am teleconference. I have 5 more teleconferences today to finish out what is shaping up to be a super special day at the office. Strike that, I am working from home so it is a super special day on the phone at home. At least I have the kitties, the hubby and the ducks, geese, squirrels and other critters to watch while my brain slowly dies.
    Drinking begins at 4….

  8. Today, I’m working. In a couple of hours I’ll go to my French class, and then I hope to find some time to work on the research project I need to do for one of my graduate classes. Exciting!

  9. I just had a new ceiling installed in my bathroom. Now I’m decluttering and re-organising. I had a trash bag full of junk to throw away. I really do need to stop hoarding. I lost a set of car keys once inside the house. I never found them. I believe they must have been tossed in the garbage, maybe with the grocery bags, who knows???

  10. I ran this morning, just a short track workout. Today I’m working and applying for home equity loans, then at 4:30 we have a 35 mile group bike ride. It’s windy and gray so I’m hoping it will get nicer soon.

  11. Just got back from the gym. Soon will be getting ready for work. Late tonight we are taking the red-eye from San Francisco to New Orleans to spend five days celebrating my husband’s birthday and our anniversary. Woo-hah!

  12. Today I am teaching high schooler’s about advertising in two classes and work ethics in a third. Two meetings after school about God only knows what now. Then, dental appointment for the 8 year old to have his teeth sealed. Pick up flowers for my secret pal who was nominated as this week’s teacher of the week. Then pick up hubby from work and eat out for Family Night Out day. Then go home, do laundry, edit homework, pet cats, send hubby off to softball game, watch Deadliest Catch from last night, baths for kids, and bed by 10 I hope.

  13. I am working today, substitute teaching Grade 6 and 7.

Then I am home for a bit, and I’ll watch my tapes of American Idol and Big Brother.

Then I’ll tutor for 2 hours.

    Then I have choir practice.

  14. I dreamed last night that your bottle of Feliway was sitting in amongst all the shit I have stacked on my dryer. For the record: I did not steal your Feliway.

  15. Suggestion my grandmother would have made about finding your Feliway: Tie a knot in the corner of your bedsheet and say a prayer to St. Anthony, patron saint of lost things. At this point, you might want to also say a prayer to St. Jude, patron saint of lost causes.

    Hey, it can’t hurt!

  16. I am industriously grading papers while I sub a class this morning. Then I have my own class to teach tonight. Inbetween I am going to take a nap. I am in the early days of baby making and am sooooooo tired.

  17. I’m working until about 4:45 at a camera store, then going to teach a nature photography class from 5:45-8. Not looking forward to the class, really, because 1/2 of the class is super nice and I really like them, and the other 1/2 are douchebags. I’m looking forward to getting home after all that and having a BEER. πŸ™‚

  18. I’m baby wrangling all day, and meeting hubby for lunch. Maybe I’ll get some quilting done while baby is asleep. Or, maybe I’ll clean the cat’s bathroom instead.

  19. Oh, and I’m working from home for the morning, grinding on a writing project (and obviously procrastinating! TextTwirl anyone???). The afternoon will take me to a small town down the road to assist another ag3nt in a new, blossoming inve$tigation. Which reminds me. MUST find that printer cable…time to call on St. Anthony my own self!

Hey do you like high thread count sheets? Overstock.com has an awesome looking set on sale right now, 1200TC all sizes $69.99. Read the reviews – these are apparently some stout sheets, some like em, some hate em. But if you like heavy, high TC sheets, this looks like an awesome deal.

  20. I too, unfortunately, am working today. I’ll be here until 5:35 as usual. Then instead of being able to go for a nice walk afterward with the hubby in the gorgeous weather we’re FINALLY having here in northeastern Illinois we have to go to celebrate his sister’s birthday at his dad’s house. UGH!

  21. I’m sitting on the couch fighting a tonsil infection and feeling even more horrible from the antibiotics.

  22. I’m working from home this morning and then cleaning the cat boxes and doing a week’s worth of family laundry. Then when it’s nice and hot outside (Phoenix area) I’ll go roast my ass trimming our mesquite trees in the front yard.
… and all of that is just as exciting as it sounds.

  23. What am I doing today? Well, I just finished putting the dogs out and feeding the cats and making a cup of hot chocolate for myself. It was yummy. And now I will go put on my shoes and socks, and a sweater because I just can’t seem to get warm, and then be off to the “va-jay-jay” doc for my annual checkup. Then it will be off to Trader Joe’s, then to get some stamps. I’m just glad it’s not raining today.

  24. This morning, I read some research materials for a freelance contract I’m working on, enjoyed the warm breezy weather, got upset about a misunderstanding with a friend, did two loads of laundry, and made lunch (Cajun beans and rice). This afternoon I’ve watched my toddler run wild in the woods, hung the laundry out to dry, read to him (the toddler) and put him down for a nap, and now I’m going to send out some e-mails to arrange meetings with a few people whom I need to interview for a magazine article I’m writing. I need to start thinking about what to make for dinner, soon, and read some more for that contract. The azalea outside my open window is blooming, a cardinal and a robin are singing in the woods around the house, and life is very good, so I’m trying to stop worrying about everything. πŸ™‚

  25. Ah! Thanks for the explanation on your peach trees. I was looking out my window at our orchard shaking my head thinking “that Fred and Robyn are some go-getters!” πŸ™‚ HEE!!

  26. Today I built raised beds for my vegetable garden, so I made a trip to Lowe’s to buy the wood and supplies, and I built them in our driveway. I also drove my husband to work and picked him up, since his car is in the shop. I’m spending the evening preparing my lessons for teaching tomorrow (elementary art.)

  27. Today my hubby and I took off work and drove to London to visit with our daughter. She needed help cleaning out her tropical fish tank (apparently a ‘3 pairs of hands’ job!)Had lovely meal out, unblocked the vacuum cleaner and sink (!)bought a birthday cake for my mother’s 70th birthday and moseyed on home. In time for Desperate Housewives on the telly. Better than going to work, whichever way you look at it.

  28. Well, last night I finally got to ride my new bike, but today it’s supposed to be raining, so I’ll just work (graphic design agency), run to Penney’s at lunch with a friend and look at sandals, go home after 5, eat supper and lay on the couch reading all night (except for a break to watch The Office). Bore-ing!
