We watched the first hour of Kingdom Hospital last night. We DVR’d the second hour, but I don’t think we’re going to bother to watch it, or the rest of the season. It was just too goofy. I love Stephen King to death, but I don’t think he has any business writing TV shows. I haven’t liked any of his miniseries aside from The Stand, and we didn’t even bother to watch Rose Red last year.
But the next Dark Tower book come out on June 8th! Whoo!

Tonight,
Survivor! I can’t wait to see what happens – rumor has it it’s something big!

The spud and I spent an hour last night going through the course catalog and choosing classes for her to take next year. It was so friggin’ confusing, they way they had the course chart set up, but I think we got it right.
Driver’s Ed is available to her next year, though she has to have her learner’s permit. Hell, she even gets half a credit for the class! When I was in high school, I took Driver’s Ed after school through a Driving Instruction company, and at the end we were given the test for our learner’s permit. I also didn’t get any credit for it.
They have such cool classes available at her high school. I got gypped, going to a small high school! They have a HORTICULTURE class, they have an aerobics and body sculpting class, Floral Design, Family Dynamics, Housing Decisions, Robotics, Southern Literature, just anything you could imagine, they have a course for it.
I think I need to go back to high school.

It appears that my father will, in fact, be going to Hawaii for three months and that my mother will be joining him for most of that time. The spud and I are going to go out for a week in July. I’ve never been to Hawaii and the flight there and back will suck, but it should be seriously cool. Hawaii!

He’s disgusted by something, god knows what. Maybe I was singing to him at the point that Fred took the picture…

Hawaii! You lucky biznatch!!!!!!
I watched Kingdom Hospital and kind of liked its quirkiness. I want to see the next few episodes though just to be sure.
The Bean sure is expressive! He has “The Look”.
If sleeping in the floor and your mother gets to be too much, I will give you my Uncle’s address in Honolulu to escape! He will probably only charge $50 a night! HEH That bastard used to promise me a free trip to Hawaii to stay with them for 2 weeks when I was a kid. When I was 16 I asked him about it and he said, “Oh I meant for you to save up the money and come” A kid? Save that much money? This bastard is rich too!!! Cheapskate.
Oops..sorry..you made that all come out!! LOL
I need to thank you for the Adobe Acrobat rant. You said what I have been feeling for so very long now..(sniff sniff)
What in the hell is Southern Literature? A book by Margaret Mitchell?
I’m so going to Hell. Hee!
Jane is going to call me an ignoramus now, huh?
Pack me in your suitcase…. pppplllleeeeaaassseee??? Yea survivor tonite, I hope Colby decides to take off his clothes in lue of the naked Hatch… yummy!

Wow, it sounds like the Spud goes to a great high school!
I’m looking forward to Survivor, too. Bring on the drama!
The hotels you can get for $60 really arent that bad, and they are right down in Waikiki! If ya get seriously irritated or what not, just give me a call and I can rescue you for a bit. Oh yeah, I live out here (Hawaii).
What was that Kingdom Hospital about? An aardvark? None of it made any sense. I’ve read everything Stephen King has written and this was over the top. Even the characters didn’t have character. I’m not sure I’m going to watch the next episode either.
Ohhhhh, Hawaii! I’m so jealous! If you’re on Oahu, go to Haleiwa in the North Shore and visit the Matsumoto Shave Ice store. Get the shave ice with ice cream and beans. Yes, it sounds sucky, but it’s amazingly delicious. I speak from experience! And the North Shore is amazingly beautiful, too!
Go for the hotel and stay for 10 days – make the agony of the flight worth! You cannot do Hawii for only a week or less.
I love Adobe Acrobat. Makes my life much easier. Sorry

Yep, go with separate space for you and the spud!
It’s the only way to have a great trip. Sleep on the floor? No friggin way.
The Bean loves having his photo taken…such a cutie!
I’m having my knee replacement surgery in April…
so, no big vacation plans for us this year. We will probably go to Seattle at the end of September to see our old children. hehehe
Tell Fred you’re hijacking his lap top and take it and a couple of DVDs on the flight with you. Or else rent a portable DVD player in the airport. (Note: You’ll probably need an extra battery if you use the computer.)
You can always take over a lounge chair by the pool and sleep out there!
Oh, I’m so jealous — Hawaii! My friend just came back from a week-long stay and is thinking of moving out there. You should definitely stay at least 10 days to make the flight worth it.
Hawaii in July? Woowee, take some really cool clothes! Ah, but you are used to that hot and humid stuff, right? And I would think being low season there you should be able to find some cheapo motel that wouldn’t scare you to much! Have fun and suck down a Mai Tai or 2 for me!!!
I believe hotels do provide rollaways…you could ask at the desk when you arrive??
What is that yellow “cave”? It looks like something my own purrballs would love to have.
you get such GREAT shots of your cats!!! how do you do it? mine look the same all the time in pictures. 🙁
I say have fun with your parents but get a hotel room in the same hotel..but you have your OWN space!
Oh, if you want the real scary, watch the original Kingdom mini-series from Denmark. It might be one of the darkest, creepiest things I have ever watched, in the good way.
Spud’s school sounds amazing – I would have loved to have been able to take southern literature in high school!
