Today I feel lazy, so because it is the DAY OF ME, whereupon I turn 44. I said to Fred over the weekend “I can’t believe I’m almost 43.” He said “Oh, are you staying at 43?”, and I had to do the FUCKING MATH to figure out how old I really am. When I was a kid and old people (44 was ancient to me back then. Now it seems REALLY YOUNG. Shaddup.) had to stop and think about how old they were, I figured they were fucking with me, because who on EARTH doesn’t know how old they are. Yeah.

Anyway, I’ve been meaning to share this picture for ages and ages. It’s of ME from this past summer, and it makes me smile every time I look at it. I was messing with the Talking Tom app on my iPad, and cracking myself up.

Now I’m going to go settle on the couch and catch up on my TV-watching, and not do a damn thing all day long because it’s MY DAY and it’s all about ME. (At least until I get bored, of course. I might vacuum. We’ll see.)

Also, so you don’t have to go without your kitteh fix, here I am getting my very first kitten for my (I think) sixth birthday, so it was mumblety-mumble years ago. I don’t know. I can’t do the math. Her name was Suzy and I lurved her.

    I’ll be joining you at 44 in March. 😀 (I often forget my age too but usually think I’ll be turning a year older than I am, because I spend months before my bday saying “I’ll be 44 in March” so I end up thinking I actually AM 44).

    1. I did that in my forties and earlier but not since I turned fifty (two years ago). It seems that now I don’t want to “practice” being any older than I truly am.

  36. Happy Birthday Robyn! I always make it easy on figuring out my age. I turn 46 in July, but I usually just round up after the first of the year. I haven’t, however, done it yet this year. Hmmmm

  55. Happy happy birthday, Robyn. That’s a great photo of you laughing! I love the Talking Tom app too. I have this weird voice that I use when I’m talking for my cat, Cooper. He has seizures occasionally (thankfully they haven’t happened in quite a while), so he (or, uh wellll … I) like to say “I haz seizures” … My kids think it’s annoying, but I crack myself up with it. I take great pleasure in having Talking Tom chat about having da seizures… and OH, I can’t help but laugh at myself. Good times.

    The photo of the very young “you” is sweet. That little girl sure did grow up to have a bunch of cats!
