1/30/06

Okay. So. I’m off to the hospital! Read more about it here. Don’t expect any more entries this week. Fred will post an addendum to this entry at some point this afternoon to let y’all know I made it through surgery just fine. And for those of you who feel the need to leave nasty comments – yeah, I know you’re out there – Fred will be on the comments like white on rice, and will be deleting any comments he feels are too negative so I’ll never see them. Frustrating isn’t it? The rest of you, have a good week, and I’ll see you soon! Oh, and check out the ton of cat pictures I uploaded to Flickr yesterday.

Addendum from Fred: All is well.

  2. Good luck! You’ll be in my prayers. Just look at it as a new adventure in the life of the “Crazy Cat Lady”. Please, please be a good patient. I know Fred and the Spud will help you in any way they can.
    Diane

  3. Good for you Robyn. I imagine this was a tough decision to make, and you seem at peace with yourself, which is great. I’ll be thinkin of you, and although I’ll miss your daily posts, I know that when you come back to us you will have tons of stuff to share. Good luck.

  4. best wishes Robyn. My friend in NY had surgery a year ago and lost 90lb so far. I’ll excitedly watch your progress.

  5. Oh good luck to you. That’s a really courageous decision – one that I need to make also.
Thoughts and prayers are with you….

  6. I’m looking forward to seeing your success! Take care Robyn – we’ll all be thinking happy, smiley thoughts for you!

  7. Good luck today! I can’t wait to hear all of your stories when you get back. Sending great thoughts and prayers your way! I know it will go well and a new life awaits you on the other side!!!

  8. Good luck Robyn! I am so happy for you! I will be nervously refreshing until Fred posts that you are ok. Can’t wait to hear about this experience.
    Amy

  9. Robyn
I think you made a couragous decision and definitely not a quick one. My thoughts are prayers a with you that you make a good and speedy recovery.

  10. Okay, just finished reading all your posts about the WLS up to now. I was very freaked out by the whole lawyer debacle! Lawyers can be good or bad, but you picked a doozy! What an idiot! I am SO glad you persevered and finally were able to get the approval. I’d be interested to hear (when you get around to it) why you didn’t go with the lap-band when you thought you were denied…what I mean is, what made you stick with the original plan and just push on through? (Because I am a ditherer, too, and will just spin my wheels forever. You seem like you were able to GET where you needed!) Again, all support and best wishes and I know your kitties will miss you but I suppose Fred is capable, huh!?! You’ve got some rough days ahead but I trust and affirm it will be worth it for the rest of your life! MANY warm Wishes!
    Kindly, Karla (www.misspinks.blogspot.com)

  11. Hoping this turns out perfectly for you, Robyn, and is everything you wanted it to be. Sending good vibes, love and best wishes. Can’t wait till you’re back. Take good care of yourself.

  12. Robyn,
I don’t think you are going to find much of the negativity and scoffing that you are worried about.
We support you, worry about you, and are excited for you!!!
May this be the Year of the Robyn! Good luck! 🙂
    Rebecca

  13. Yay! Sending good thoughts your way too, and I know everything’ll be fine, in addition to Fred and the Spud, you have that great “staff” to wait on you lol. Good luck and anxiously waiting to hear about the next part of your journey. I have 2 friends who had this and they’re both doing well, I know you will too!

  14. HEY ROBYN,HERES WISHING YOU A SPEEDY RECOVERY. KNOW THAT YOU WILL BE IN MY PRAYERS. EVERY ONE IS PROUD OF YOU. LOVE AND PRAYERS TO YOUR FAMILY

  15. I’m not sure if you know this or not but I work in an office that is 97% female and there are 70 of us total. In the past five years I would say that at least a dozen have had weight loss surgery of one kind or another. Most of them had lap band but a couple had the actual bypass. I had no clue you were even considering it but I respect your decision and will hope for the best for you! 🙂

  16. Delurking to send you good vibes for today and best post-surgery recovery wishes. I’m glad everything finally sorted itself out, after reading all your entries about the past 18 months… You’ve got the best possible support team at home with the kitties, the spud and Fred (this would be the resolution he hinted at last week, right?)
Take good care of yourself, and send Fred over with updates soon! Hugs!

  17. Wow. This whole time I never would have imagine you were struggling so to try and keep the weight off that you lost. This was a bit of shock because I admired your attitude to excercising. I still admire you because of the choices you’ve made towards your life. Good luck, Robyn. I hope that this will finally be a permanent solution. Best of Lck!

  18. I can’t wait to see how this turns out. Good for you! I’m envious. I sincerely hope this works out for you just how you’d like. You rawk!

  19. Good luck Robyn, how exciting for you! You’ll be in my thoughts today.
    Here’s to a speedy recovery.

  20. You are always so upbeat here that I never knew just how hard things were for you. I wish you luck and hope that this enables you to feel better about yourself. I too have lived with being overweight since I was in junior high. I have lost several times, only to gain it all back and then some…it has a lot to do with self image. Even when I was at my thinnest, I felt as though I was still fat. If this is what you need to finally break free of that..then I am proud of you for making that decision. Have a speedy recovery from the surgery and good luck with your new body!!

  21. Rock on with your bad self, Robyn! I wish you a safe procedure, and look forward to reading your updates as you shrink into Robyn 2.0! 😀

  22. I’m just wishing for you the “best of everything” and that your wls goes perfectly, with no problems whatsoever. I’m praying that you will have a speedy recovery and will be back home really really soon. Much love to you and Fred and the Spud. Good Luck!!!
    nanamama 😉

  23. Ahhhaaaahhhaaaa! You are in surgery NOW!!! Aahhhahahhhaaaahhh!!!
(I’m so excited and worried about you!)
    Ahhaaahhahah!

  24. Why you little sneak! Here I was feeling all guilty when I told you to unscribe me while I was having the surgery and you didn’t say a word! Yeah! We can get skinny together! Ok, NOT Paris HIlton skinny, but you know! You will be so glad you had the surgery (in about a week anyway)- we can’t all be the Phat Man. It’s just different for men. Good Luck and have Fred update and let us know how it went.
    Later,
    Tawnya.

  25. You know I wish nothing but the best for you and Fred, I know by reading everything now what a struggle this has been for you and it amazed me how much your words echoed my own.
I will be awaiting Fred’s note. Take care hon!

  26. Best of luck, Robyn! Sorry I didn’t get back to you in time. I’ll be thinking about you & I want all the details when you’re up to it!! Hugs!

  27. Only the best wishes for you Robyn that you come through the surgery well and you’ll be in my thoughts!

  28. Robyn:
Sounds like quite a battle to get where you are today. I am sure you made a good choice because it is something you wanted so badly. So many of us understand what a struggle it is every day to live with weight issues. I hope you have a quick recovery and we will be hearing from you soon. Best wishes to you, Fred, Spud and the kitties.

  29. Good luck to you!!! I can’t wait to hear how it goes for you….actually I am jealous 🙂 I would love to have the surgery (lap-band) BUT my insurance does NOT cover it AT ALL.
Best wishes you will be in my thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery.
    Take Care
    Holly

  30. I am soooo freaking jealous!! Congratrs on cutting through all the BS and keepng your eye on the prize. You will do GREAT!

  31. Ok I’m freaked out. I stopped reading your other blog when you stopped posting a couple of years ago and never realized you restarted. Good luck, I know it was a hard decision. You might want to check out OA.org – it will help with the complusion to eat. I’ve been going for only a few months, but it’s helped me a great deal on being more conscience on what and why I’m eating.

  32. Wow! I’m so excited for you! You’re embarking on a whole new journey, and I wish you much, much luck, you little secret keeper.

  33. Wow!!! Okay, I’m sending lots of positive vibes your way and hoping that you make a quick and easy recovery. Best wishes and love to you. I know the kitties and Fred and the Spud will take good care of you when you’re back home.

  34. I am so proud of you! It’s all about you sister! We love you and can’t wait to hear how you made out.

  35. Healthy and happy. One can’t wish for more. Recover, reflect, renew and grow Robyn. Good for you in making a soundly researched decision. I wish you nothing but the best.

  36. Best wishes with everything, Robyn. I’m sure everything will go swimmingly and you have a super-speedy recovery.
I can’t fathom anyone leaving a nasty comment, but I guess some people really do suck. Still, surely the vast, vast majority of people would only wish you well.

  37. Wowza,my eyes are welling up here…
Good for you that you have the courage to do this for yourself.
I had been pressured by my family to have surgery so I automatically put up resistance and refused to even explore it.
THEN I bought some WLS books and read the online info, but haven’t gotten up the nerve to start the process.
The only advice I will give ya is the same I gave Fred. When it’s time for a tummy tuck, make sure they do it tight enough. This I gleaned from researching tummy tuck photos online-some of them look as if they need a second operation.
God bless and good luck. Our prayers are with you for a speedy and problem-free recovery.

  38. Robyn! OMG! I didn’t have the foggiest! Good luck! My thoughts and prayers will be with you. I had that surgery almost 2 years ago now and my life has changed so much for the better. Love you!

  39. Robyn I sure wish you a safe and quick recovery!! I totally understand the stress you must have been under now Fred! You’re both in my thoughts that this goes smoothly. Now I’m off to do what looks like quite a bit of reading to see what lead up to today.

  40. Wow..wuh..huh? I just had to re-read the post and then go and check I didn’t miss the post before, and then I had to re-read OFB to see if I’d missed anything there. Talk about out of the blue news! Wow! Am going to read your hidden/revealed OFB posts now. Good luck Robyn! Everything’s crossed for you.

  41. I hope that you’re soon home and resting comfortably–you made a brave choice and I’m really proud of you, even though I don’t know you!
    Angie

  42. I am really excited for you. I am glad that all worked out. I haven’t read your entries on the other site but I fully plan to. As soon as I read that you were going in I started getting all teary eyed, so I will wait to read them for now. I really hope that all goes well. I can’t wait till you are back so I can follow along with you on this newest journey.
Best of luck to you. 🙂

  43. OMG. You really shouldn’t surprise us like this. 😉 I hope you have an easy recovery. I am excited for you! I’ve been thinking about doing the same thing myself. I know it’s an incredibly difficult decision to make. I still can’t decide. Best of luck!

  44. Good luck! I hope everything goes well, and you recover easily and with minimal pain! Remember to take your vitamins!

  45. Wow! Good for you! I kind of wondered if this was the big change you were contemplating. I hope surgery goes smoothly, you get lots of good drugs, and that you get to have a life in which you don’t have to think about food if you don’t want to. If the blessings of a random stranger on the Internet mean anything to you, you’ve got mine.
    Hugs!
    Denise

  46. Robyn, Hope the surgery is all over with, and you are awake and sucking on some ice chips. I admire your courage to change your life. Best of luck.

  47. Yay, Robyn! Here’s to a speedy recovery and a
Happily Ever After… or at least smaller pants. 🙂
So. If Fred’s monitoring the comments “like white on rice”, maybe he’ll take pity on us and post an update somewhere to let us know you’re okay after the surgery? Right? Please?

  48. Robyn,
I’m a long time reader but have never posted.
You have made a courageous decision and should be admired for that.
Just had to send you good thoughts and prayers.
Wishing you a speedy and uneventful recovery.

  49. Oh Robyn, you have all my thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery toward a new and healthier life!!!!
I was scheduled for a September 2005 date myself, but cancelled it because I was too afraid of going under anesthesia (past issues from my gall bladder surgery).
I’ve put your WLS blog at the top of my favorites and I’ll be so anxious to know how you’re doing after surgery!
    *hugs*

  50. Oh thanks Fred! Been waiting to hear – knew everything would be fine. Robyn you hang in there these next few days….

  51. Congratulations, and I’m glad it went well. I look forward to reading about your postop life. The gastric bypass was the best thing I ever did for my physical health, and I hope it’s smooth sailing for you, too.

  52. I just wanted to add my own “get well soon.” I pray that all goes purrfectly (heh) and that you are back home with Fred, the Spud, and your kitties right away.

  53. So excited for you! Glad all is well (thanks for the update Fred) and I can’t wait to hear about everything in the way only you can tell it. Cheers, hugs and excellent vibes coming your way.

  54. awesome! i’m so happy for you that you’ve been approved. i read fred’s addendum, so i know that all is well. rest up and feel better! **hugs** 🙂

  55. Woohooo! So glad you are doing well. Thanks Fred for the note. 🙂
Delurking to send love and good wishes,
    Ellie & Emily

  56. I’m glad you came out of the surgery and are doing well. I look forward to hearing all about it. You are in my thoughts and prayers!
    Martha

  57. My thoughts are with you! I know you will recover quickly and can’t wait to read all your posts about the pounds just falling off!!!! Good for you! Take care!

  58. Imagine an absolute embrace of love from the “internet” — all of us who read you SO faithfully, and with such joy, want only the best for you and your family.

  59. Wow! What a surprise! I am certain everything has gone well and you will have terrific results. Good for you!

  60. Wow, Robyn I had no idea you were considering this… I hope all is well… You will do great, you have a very supportive husband which never hurts.. Best of luck.

  61. Dear Robyn: Best wishes for a speedy recovery from a faithful reader and fellow cat-lover. Very much look forward to your post-surgery update.

  62. Lots of well wishes! Get better quick chick! Oh, and thanks Fred for that DETAILED addendum…you ARE a writer aren’tchya? 😉

  63. Wow. You have a lot of pals named Erin! Robyn, I am sending you warm, caring and healing thoughts. It is so very obvious that you are so very, very special to all of us who read you.

  64. You always seemed so upbeat, I had no idea your
past year has been so stressful with the insurance
    struggles and the idiot lawyer.
Best of luck to you, and may everything turn out just
as you hope it will and that your next birthday
will see a new and glamorous version of Robyn in a yellow bathing suit on the beach at Maine.

  65. good luck, happy thoughts and healthy vibes for you…here’s to a quick recovery. And I am sorry that there are so many jerks out there that you couldn’t post about this earlier. Pfftthhh to them.

  66. Awww dear Robyn. I’m another longtime reader – wishing you nothing but the best! I had WLS 3 years ago – it’s been a blessing.

  67. Oh, Robyn, I wish I had known that you were going to do this beforehand so I could have told you that a friend of mine had this surgery a couple of years ago and got along great. She says it’s the best thing she ever did. I’m so happy that you took this important step and that all is well (I just read Fred’s “addendum”). Take care and feel the love and support you have all around.

  68. I’ve delurked to send you my best wishes and a very very speedy recovery.I just know you will do well! My best to you and your family from another crazy cat lady owned by three Bengal cats! P.S. I totally enjoy your way with words!

  69. Thanks for the update, Fred. I got back on-line just to check if anything is going on.
Take care Robyn. I rarely post, but I do read you blog everyday and you are like a part of my life.
I KNOW that sounds so corny!!! As well, I can bet the farm that I am not the only one who feels this way, either.
Get well soon, and keep us posted when you can!!!!!
    ((((((((((Robyn))))))))))

  70. There’s not much else I can add, but I wanted to throw in my congratulations and well wishes too!!
I’m so excited for you! Yay! Woohoo!!

  71. I read through everything you wrote on your other journal and so much of it rings true for me (the obsession w/ food), it touched me so much to see that I don’t struggle w/ this alone. I am so happy that you got your surgery approved and I hope you recover super fast and that you have no complications post-op. I love your journal and you bring a smile to my face on a daily basis. I’ll miss you while you are gone. Take it easy, get lots of rest and behave yourself! 🙂
    Hugs!!

  72. All the best, Robyn! thanks, Fred, for giving us the “all is well” end-note. Hope you will be home snuggling with the kitties in no time!

  73. Robyn,
I am sorry that you felt that you had to hide such an important part of your life from us. You have been through a lot over the last year or so.
I know it was not an easy decision for you. I truly wish you all of the best for your recovery!!!!!

  74. I posted this in your OFB journal as well:
Good luck with everything Robyn! This may sound weird but I am happy to hear that you are having an RNY. Your life will be totally different and for the better. I have been reading your site and Fred’s for years and I have enjoyed them so much. Here’s to a fresh new start for you! I had my open RNY on 3/11/03, and lost 135 pds. I have maintained at about 135-140 and I just found out I am pregnant which we never thought could happen. I wish you the best and safest recovery!

  75. I am so excited for you!!
Make sure you put Fred on kitty litter duty for a loooong time as you recover.
    Pat

  76. Hi Robyn
Havnt written to you in such a long time, but still read you all the time.
Im so excited about your surgery.
Love and best wishes for a speedy recovery.
    Tania in Melbourne, Oz

  77. Oh of course…the few days that I DON’T check your journal, and you have big news!
Oh Robyn, I so wish you the best – and I’m glad that you made the decision for YOU. Glad to hear that all is well…can’t wait to read your post-op entry’s! You’re in my thoughts for a fast and speedy recovery, wooo!

  78. Yeah, so I cheat and read every great once in a while. Glad I do. Glad you did this and glad all went well. Take care and get well soon. Happy Thinner and Healthier Life!

  79. Thank you, Robyn, for sharing your journey to WLS with us. I know it must’ve been hard to keep it under your hat for so long. Reading your OFB entries made me realize how very much you and I have in common with eating and weight problems. I have felt so isolated, even though I know I’m not. The fat really keeps that distance between you and other people, you know? I’ve thought of WLS so many times, but have been too scared to even do much research on it (although I have done some). I’m desperate, but I’ve never felt that I’m “worthy” enough to have surgery. (I know that probably sounds bizarre…but it’s true). Please, for the sake of other obese, struggling people that read your journal (NOT a blog!), let us know how recovery goes for you. I totally understand why you kept the OFB entries private until now. I would’ve done the same thing. But don’t do that now. I, for one, need to know – for real – that it can work. That there is hope for life beyond this disgustingly fat body. That I can someday wake up in the morning and not immediately think about what I’m going to eat that day.
I also know that I’m not alone.
Thank you for everything. You are such an inspiration.

  80. Sending my best wishes for a speedy recovery from a long time reader and admirer. You were already so beautiful inside and out but I know this surgery will bring a new type of joy. Can’t wait for all the great after pictures!@!!!! God bless you and your family.

  81. Good luck, Robyn– I’m sure you’ll come through with flying colors! (What does that mean, exactly? I envision knights riding into battle with banners…)

  82. Robyn…
First and foremost…Congrats! I am so happy for you. I can’t even imagine what you went through to get the surgery. My husband is in the Navy. I went to my doctor in June 2005 and had my surgery in September 2005. It was the BEST thing I have ever done for myself. Many well wishes to you and Fred.
    Hugs,
    Dawn in CA

  83. Wow, what a surprise was my first thought and then I thought well not so much. It seemed that you were waiting for something to happen and guess this was it. I’m glad to hear that all is well! Best wishes for a speedy recovery and we’ll all look forward to hearing all about it next week or whenever you are up to logging on.

  84. Of all the people I’ve heard of doing this you seem so deserving. Everyone knows how hard you have worked and you did the biggest part on your own.
I know I am not the only fan that reads you daily but doesn’t post much but I’ve very happy you got approved and you are on the ‘other side’.
Wishing you a quick recovery and look forward to reading about your thoughts and success!

  85. You’re home already? Wow! Missed us, huh? 🙂
Your postings in the next while will be very interesting but first of all. . . rest and be well.

  86. Robyn – Lots of good recovery vibes your way and here’s to your brave and wonderful adventure! You go, girl! Can’t wait to read your progress notes. Does this mean no more Diet Coke?
    Happy Healing!

  87. Phew! Glad to know that you’re safe at home, recovering. You’re probably not feeling too good right now, but I hope you’ll be 100% better soon!

  88. Just wanted to send you my best wishes for a quick recovery! I’m glad to see you are home now!

  89. Sending you my best wishes for a speedy recovery, Robyn! I’m so happy for you.
I hope Fred and the Spud are good at corraling the kitties and keeping them from walking all over you while you are recovering!

  90. Robyn ~ so glad to hear you are okay and home! Even though we don’t know each other I feel like Michelle (above) in that I read your journal every day and feel like you are a part of my life as well. My husband has gotten used to me talking about Robyn and Fred and doesn’t say…who is that? Anyway, rest, rest and rest some more.
    Take good care,
    Debbie

  91. Robyn –
Ditto what Debbie said, especially the husband part. You’re in my thoughts and prayers. Get healed and back to your laptop soon! We’ll be waiting for you.

  92. What? You haven’t posted yet? What’s your problem? Lazy!
Heh. Glad you are home and hope you heal fast. Isn’t liquid Lortab the NAST-AYist shit in the world?

  93. Dear “One Fat Bitchypoo”:
I think you are courageous and applaud you for choosing to undergo major surgery for something which you have obviously struggled with for a long time. Clearly your decision was not undertaken lightly but after long thought and much deliberation. I wish you a speedy recovery and much happiness after.
    (((((((hugs)))))))

  94. Dear Robyn, as one of your quiet but admiring readers for many moons, I’m wishing you all the best. Like your other fans, I miss you, you’re a part of my day, and I’m eager to hear all the details. Fred, you don’t have to write an essay, but could you give us just a little more info? Huh, could you? Please?

  95. Glad you’re home and more wishes for a quick recovery. Can’t wait to read about this in the way only you could tell it!

  96. I hope you can realize what a blessing you are to your reader “friends”. Blessings back at you!
    Peace and prayers!

  97. Glad to hear your home safe and sound with your loving family to nurse you on your feet. Today will be the first day of the rest of your life. Something like that. Forgot the correct saying. But when you think of how much your life is about to change it’s like a new lease on life. A Brand new Beginning 🙂
All of your journal readers love you, Fred and the Spud even though we’ve never met, we love you through the words we’ve read here at your diary. We want only the best for you and this new life venture your about to embark on will give you lots to jot down here at your journal. We’ll all be waiting patiently in the back ground for your return.
How’s the kitties reacting to you? Can they tell something is differant about you 🙂 Hey, what’s gonna happen when your size starts to shrink and the kitties think their mama disappeared 🙂 ha,ha
    We Love you Robyn
    {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

  98. Glad to hear Robyn’s back home. Take good care of her Fred and let her know we’re all thinking of her so much!

  99. Wow! I can’t believe you’re home already, but that’s wonderful news because it HAS to mean that everything is A-Okay!! It must be such a relief for you to have the surgery over with!
My thoughts and prayers are with you. Oh – and not to worry you or put a damper on anything, but my mother always says that the second or third day after surgery is “the worst” so however you count which is the second or third day, you might have a day where you don’t feel as well as you DID initially post-op, but don’t worry. When I had my hysterectomy, I didn’t experience that, though, so you might not either. I just didn’t want it to scare you if you don’t feel so hot in a day or two, and if you do experience it, it doesn’t last long.
Get well soon! You’ll soon be up and about, harassing the kitties again…LOL!!!
    Luv,
Patti (You don’t “know” me because I’ve just been a lurker until yesterday when I found out you were having surgery.)

  100. Congrats on taking the plunge, having a successful surgery, and hopefully getting what you want.
Grabbing life by the balls and doing what you’ve gotta do is the only way to live.
I hope your recovery is quick, painless, and easy, and that the outcome is what you want it to be!

  101. Wishing you a speedy recovering Robyn! Just remember, all the pain you are feeling now will be worth it in the end.

  102. Read this site everyday but haven’t commented to date. Well, I think I tried to answer a couple of your gardening questions some time back (I am, after all, a Master Gardener!)
Thank you for sharing your struggle. It breaks my heart to think that you felt others would think less of you for making this difficult decision.
Congratulations and best wishes for the future – I hope you love hiking as much as Fred (and I)! Happy thoughts your way.

  103. Get well soon Robyn! Think about you and wishing you everything you wish yourself!
(Look at that – it took you having surgery before I would delurk myself!)

  104. Long-time reader of both your site and Fred’s de-lurking to say I wish you a speedy recovery.
Get well soon. I’m addicted to reading your site everyday and already am missing the kitty pics!

  105. This is so exciting!! Make sure you take lots of progress pictures. What an exciting time in your life!

  106. Aw c’mon Fred. Give us a bit more to tide us over will ya?!!
Seriously, glad to hear you’re back home Robyn and hope you’re feeling well. Will be looking forward to reading your posts again.
    Chris

  107. Congratulations, Robyn! You have done all you can, and, while you’re beautiful already, I think this is a great step for you. You have succeded already, and I look forward to THE STORY.
Be well, and speedy recovery to you!

  108. By the way, you sly dog, I remember you had said something in your blog ages ago about a big decision you had made. I asked you (in the comments) about it a little while ago and you innocently said you had no idea what I was referencing. LOL!
Again, congrats — wishing you all the best!

  109. I’m so glad you came through this well.
It’s wonderful you get this chance to transform your life.

  110. WOW! I was shocked to see you kept this a seceret from us 🙂 Glad to know your home and everything is good. Wishing you the BEST! Take Care!

  111. Bloody hell, 206 comments! you are well loved, and have a lot of people wishing you all the best 🙂 Hope you’re feeling okay, glad the op went well, and here’s to a speedy recovery.

  112. Wishing you a speedy recovery, Robyn! I am looking forward to hearing about your experience as I am considering this myself.
Scritch those kitties & feel better soon!
    Hugs from Michigan

  113. It sucks that you had to hide this from the judgemental assholes of the world, but I admire your courage and honesty. Best of luck with your recovery.

  114. Have a very speedy recovery! Love and prayers for you. (I hope Fred is a good nurse, too!)

  115. Hi again Robyn – just checking your site everyday to see if Fred has updated anything about you. We are all impatient – but I am sure that you want to be the one to tell us your story. I hope all is well and that if you are in any pain – that you have plenty of feel good drugs. I am sure you have many good books to keep you busy while you recover. Thinking of you!

  116. Hi Robyn! Hope you’re doing well. You got home fast! That’s great! I haven’t noticed a single mean-spirited comment. Either the internet has indeed treated you with grace – or Fred is REALLY fast with the deleting. Hopefully the former (and if so, perhaps some kind of internet record!). Can’t wait to read your take on it all. Cheers!! Kathy

  117. Hi Robyn! Hope you are feeling well. I can’t wait to hear all the details! Anyone who says doing whats right for you is wrong just sucks and probably hates kittens too…who needs ’em!!

  118. Robyn, I’m so proud of you for taking this step. You truly deserve all the happiness life has to offer. God Bless You!

  119. Hi Robyn!
Hope you feel good enough to type REAL soon! lol
    The suspense is killing us!
I can totally relate to all the hell of having lifelong “food” issues.I spend my life trying to lose 30 lousy pounds ,yet they cling to me like ugly dogticks!
Tell Fred not to cook you scrambled eggs with swiss cheese.(yuk, that’s what my husband made me after my hysterectomy…EVERY morning)
    Prayers and hugs, Lena

  120. Robyn,
I’ve known five people who’ve had the surgery, including my mother and my sister. Every one of them says it’s the best thing they ever did. Best of luck to you. Be sure to get enough protein — that seems to be the key. Unjury is a good brand of protein drink mix.
    I’m very happy for you!

  121. I gasped when I read about your surgery – I tend to check into this site from time to time, and it seems like something big has always just happened when I do! And your sister is right, surgery IS skeery. I’m wishing and hoping for a fast recovery, and that you are hapy with the results.
GO ROBIN GO ROBIN GO GO ROBIN

  122. Robyn,
Wishing you the very best and a super speedy recovery!
You and Fred are wonderful people and you deserve to be happy!
