  1. It adds a nice cooling effect to spicy stuff. Like nachos with jalapenos and sour cream.

  2. The main thing about sour cream is that it is CREAM. Cream = good. You’re not eating it FAT FREE are you? That stuff, like “fat free cream cheese”, really does have no flavor. Anyway, back to my original proposition: CREAM = GOOD. That pretty much explains it in my world! So glad you’re home & doing well!!!!

    I happen to love the tangyness of sour cream with Mexican food, potatoes (mashed or baked), and even with my red beans (or black beans) and rice.

  4. It’s cool, creamy and sour, but then I like buttermilk too. There is just something about the tanginess of their flavors.

  5. Sour cream means you can eat really hot salsa without blistering your tongue 🙂 I prefer the soy variety myself. Glad you’re feeling well enough to ponder the meaning of condiments!

  6. Sour cream does have a flavour. It’s buttery and tangy and creamy and cool.
    There’s nothing like it for mellowing and blending flavours in soups and in
    bean dishes. It’s great in chicken paprikash and in beef stroganoff. It’s
    an absolute necessity on blintzes and in cheesecake.
    It’s CREAM, for heaven’s sake! Cream is one of the best things on earth to
    eat — sweet cream, sour cream, creme fraiche, it’s all good.

  7. OMG. I cannot eat anything Mexican without sour cream. It is my favorite part of a burrito, taco, you name it. I put it on top of omelets. It’s DAMN good. And it has to be the real thing, fat free tastes like dookey.

  8. As I LOVE Mexican food sour cream is a staple. Also so good on baked potatoes!

  9. I LOVE IT. Pierogies with sour cream are tasty. Good with all mexican food, either from scratch or those freezer taquitos. A must-have ingredient in a baked potato. MMM. I love the sour cream. Oh, it’s good stirred up in some Wendy’s Chili with cheese, too. (and spoon THAT into a plain baked potato. Yum.)

  10. HAHA @ Connie. Dookey. Oh, that’s funny. And yes, I forgot eggs/omelets. Spice ’em up with some tabasco, then cool ’em off with some sour cream. Mmm.
